FAQ

Q: When importing postscript slides the dlb crashes or the slides are not displayed correctly.

Especially postscript files created with programs under MS Windows cause problems. See
Giving Presentations for workarounds.

Files containing more than one postscript slide have to be splitted into single slides by the dlb. The dlb uses pssplit to do so. Sometimes pssplit does not work properly, causing the dlb to crash. As a workaround, create multiple files containing a single slide each and import one slide at a time.

Q: The dlb does not recognize the correct type of a file even though the ending is correct.

Unfortunately the dlb is case sensitiv here; use always small letters in file endings.

Q: The dlb pops up error messages I cannot explain when importing external files like images even though I know that the object stored in the file is not corrupt (i.e., is displayed correctly by other programs).

Please check if the file name contains special characters like whitespace and replace them.

Q: I'm using an X-Server to display Unix programs under MS Windows. Starting the dlb under this condition creates an empty window.

Hummingbirds Exceed does work fine with the dlb - other products can cause problems.
