Create your own network

 

Now that we have seen what you can do with the applet, let's build our own network. First of all press the entry new in the File menu. Let's start our network by bringing some nodes on the animation canvas. To do so we press the add node button and move the mouse somewhere on the animation panel. After some time (the gif image must be retrieved from the network) an icon appears which stands for a network node. The icon follows the mouse pointer until the button is pressed. Put some more network nodes on the canvas by repreating the task described before. You can move the icons again by clicking once and then moving them somewhere else and clicking again. Note that each node gets unique number to recognize it.

Now we can add some network links by clicking on the add link button and then on two network nodes. You can watch the nodes exchanging routing information. Maybe now it's the time to inspect the routing table of one node. Press the inspect node button and click on a network node to get its routing informations. The routing table will be updated dynamically during the animation process.
