Project 3 Copyright
|
Introduction Use of multimedia elements such as animations and video clips to support the explanations of the speaker, can improve the quality of a lecture. But the production of computer-based learning material that includes multimedia elements is costly in terms of both time and money, whereas (unauthorized) copies are easy to make if no special precautions have been taken to protect the copyright of the author. Thus many authors desist from publishing their course materials in electronic form. In order to increase acceptance of teleteaching among professors, effective copyright protection is needed. Three different mechanisms for copyright protection exist: The aim of the project is to develop a
software solution for effective copyright protection using the mechanisms
described above. Its main focus will be access and usage control. It is
planned to integrate copyright protection into the multimedia lecture board.
The project will be carried out by the University of Aachen.
