Title: Wireless Internet and m-commerce

This seminair gives a strategic view of the convergence between TELCOS
and IT Companies on providing added value information services. We
describe such an impact in term of business models and infrastructures
with identifying potential areas of further development along with the
strategy of the major actors.

(M-commerce) Infostructures and transaction management This seminar
encompasses 2 parts :

(i) the presentation of the different information architectures
("infostructures") from Mainframe to pervasive wireless computing thru
client server which could support an e-commerce platform with their
attached issues : middleware within 4 tier architecture, distributed
applications and associated standards (COM+ vs CORBA3), 2PC protocols
and data replication

(ii) an in depth conceptual treatment of the
TRANSACTION concept (from ACID defining properties to SQL3 extensions)
and its relevance to solve the problems of both concurrency control
and crash recovery
